Lab Hours
4 hours: or maybe more, finalizing exhibit content and such that is due this week. Using discussion board on BB. Finding a Ponderosa picture- Yay for having my own picture of this from when I did a botany collection.

READ!! Tasmania map issue?
I know Tasmanian Sojourn are using a map of Tasmania, and Parallel Lives might be using something of the sort (it might only be a mine map), and Colonial Milieu has a map on their schematic design. I think we need to discuss this, so we don't put the same picture up 3 times. If it is going to be an issue at all.

READ!! Objects
I would like to argue for objects that other groups have also claimed.
I am arguing for group Parallel lives.
Object: Horse hair brush with ivory handle. Also claimed by Full Circle. I don't know how set full circle is on these. Parallel really wants them. They go with our story, and they match the other ivory objects we are using.
Object: Flint and Tinder pouch. Also claimed by Colonial Milieu. I would like this because it is the only object that is known to be from Burma. I will be featuring a section on Burma that includes a map, Alice's journey from Singapore to Darjeeling, two pictures, and clippings from Alice's journal where she talks about Burma.
I think there are substitutes for this object that have not been claimed. Such as everything Samoan, Hawaiian, and the EMU EGG CAMEO. If you (Colonial Milieu) are using the ostrich egg, them you should definitely use the cameo. I'm thinking it was just missed accidentally.

Lab Hours
2.5 hours- spent with Mallory figuring out the schematics of Parallel lives wall. See Mallory's blog for picture (or in person if the picture is difficult to see). We made to scale where things will be placed on the wall, and we decided which objects to put in the coffin case and which to put in the big case.
Work to be completed: text/blurbs for images and info, didactic panel, exact images, check resolution on images, determine exactly how to mount objects on wall.
Also, for the maps, Mallory suggested we use sewing pins instead of push pins to mark places. I think this is a great idea and will look good.

Lab Hours
2 hours researching and figuring things out: pictures of a paddlewheel boat (which took me on a tangent to some pictures of Burma in 1899- I think they were at war during this time), maps, what artifacts I'd like to use.
Last week: (completely late, but here it is): 4 hours 45min ~about. Meeting group in museum to work on storyboard (2x), reading Alice's journal and looking up where those places are and what some of the things are, possible artifacts to use, reading given info (on BB) about Alice and George.

Maps
I need some help with this.
I'm having trouble with the map.
What I want is a map that shows a good route from Singapore to Darjeeling from 1899.
What I have is a good map of Burma but it doesn't go as far as Darjeeling, and I have a map of India and Burma that doesn't have Singapore. Maybe we can have one small one in the corner that shows the entire route, but then one large that highlights places. I plan to highlight places with push pins of that works.

I have Fine Arms & Western Americana: Featuring the Estate of Montie Montana February 28 & 29, 2000 in San Francisco, Butterfields.
In the collection, there are many Winchester and Colt firearms, and an assortment of rodeo objects.
There is a rifle made for Annie Oakley.
There is a Hawaiian grass skirt and lei (page 69). Labeled 1964.

Deed of Gift
My partner was Jim.
Jim gifted a bronze oil lamp with lid attached by a chain. Sorry, no picture because I forgot my camera. It was very interesting. I would think it is a replica of a traditional Arab design. While it was made in India, Jim bought it in Doha Qatar from a gift shop in a mall in 2002 while deployed with the US Air Force. It is the only souvenir Jim has from deployment. It has never been used is in excellent condition, but there is some oxidizing where it was welded together. It would contribute to a collection of souvenirs from servicemen who are from this area.
